But what about urban areas where a more dense population lives in close proximity? To find out, Forbes asked our statisticians to compare the world’s Top 20 porn-loving cities.
New York City tops Pornhub’s traffic list, even though worldwide it’s population of 8.5 million only ranks around 26th. It’s followed by London in second place, which has a similar population to New York of 8.1 million. Paris comes in third, but with a population of only 2.1 million that means the city’s residents are a horny bunch of regular porn watchers. Let’s be honest though, the Eiffel tower is a pretty big phallic symbol reminding residents it’s time to visit Pornhub.
Rounding out the Top 5 are Los Angeles and Chicago. The United States has 7 cities in the Top 20, while Australia has 3 and Japan and Italy both have 2. Together, the Top 20 cities make up 16.8% of Pornhub’s daily traffic.
The average time spent per visit to Pornhub worldwide is 10 minutes 13 seconds. Among the Top 20 cities, Seoul has the longest visit time of 12 minutes 15 seconds. Visitors from Japan’s cities tend to come and go much faster at less than 9 minutes visit time.
Big cities like New York, London, Paris and Toronto have diverse multicultural populations, so it’s no surprise to see that ethnic categories are relatively more popular when compared to their national averages. Indian is 57% more popular in New York, 42% more popular in London, 76% in Paris and 92% in Toronto.
With a relatively high proportion of female visitors (31%), the Popular With Women category is 19% more popular in Bangkok compared to the national average. Visitors from Brisbane are 19% more likely to view Tattooed Women and 17% more into Fisting. In both Rome and Milan, Italian visitors are more likely to view Bukkake videos, while visitors from Warsaw are 10% more into Bisexual videos than elsewhere in Poland.
The majority of visitors from these cities use mobile devices when they are visiting Pornhub. The state of Texas stands out with 94% of Dallas visitors and 92% of Houston using either phones or tablets. 77% of Warsaw traffic is from mobile devices, which may sound low compared to our other Top 20 cities, but is in fact much higher than the Polish average of 65%.
