Samsung and ShareSafe Partner on Mobile-To-Healthcare TV Solution, Empowering Clinicians with Seamless, Secure Access to Patient Information in Dynamic High Definition To Improve In-Room Care
Samsung Electronics America is showcasing its latest healthcare technology innovations at this week’s Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Conference (HIMSS) – including the new Samsung 4K QLED Smart Healthcare TV (HT-Q60A Series).
The advanced in-room technology offers clinicians seamless access to display patient electronic health records (EHRs), information and telehealth consultations in brilliant high definition right in the room via a secure wireless connection between the Samsung Smart Healthcare TV and a mobile device using ShareSafe’s content casting technology. Patients can easily access dynamic entertainment viewing and information resources to enhance their experience throughout their stay.
Samsung Healthcare TV:
Built to deliver outstanding detail and color along with customized content, Samsung’s 4K QLED Smart Healthcare TVs (series HQ60A; ranging in size from 43” to 75”) transform in-room displays into easily managed, all-in-one communication hubs personalized for hospital patients and senior care residents.
With Samsung’s Multi View technology, the Samsung HQ60A series can display several types of content at once. It offers a customizable welcome screen to greet patients and displays multi-media content alongside information – including schedules, care giver details and more – eliminating the need for white boards and paper signage. Patients can easily navigate entertainment and information – and the screen’s HTV emulator/adapter works with multiple pillow speaker styles for enhanced sound.
The first 4K QLED Smart Healthcare TV in the industry, the (UL-62368 certified) Samsung HQ60A series offers breathtaking QLED 4K UHD picture quality coupled with Quantum Dot technology to deliver content in stunning detail.
Clinicians can leverage the benefits of Samsung’s brilliant display and Multi View technology when viewing and sharing patient information – including lab results and scans – and connect live with consulting clinicians via a telehealth feature thanks to Samsung’s partnership with ShareSafe, a cloud-based, software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that works to improve healthcare organizations’ quality, performance and financial outcomes.
Samsung and ShareSafe
The new Samsung HQ60A TV series works with ShareSafe’s healthcare mobile application ShareView – a patent pending, mobile solution that creates a secure casting connection from a mobile device with Samsung Smart Healthcare TVs to integrate electronic health records (EHRs) as well as other sources of content. The solution enables clinicians to control the Samsung Smart Healthcare TVs to display up to four visual elements from multiple sources concurrently.
“Our partnership with ShareSafe is a game changer for our healthcare customers and their clinical teams, as well as patients,” explains Chris Mertens, VP of US Sales, Samsung Display Division, Samsung Electronics America. “The ShareView technology combined with Samsung Smart Healthcare TVs places mission critical information at the fingertips of clinicians, enabling them to securely access and display patient information and resources in large format, high definition right in the room – no need to cart around a shared IT workstation or login and search for patient records on a laptop. The results benefit both the clinician and patient through enhanced in-room care and communication.”
Designed to improve collaboration, patient engagement and workflow efficiency for hospital care givers, the mobile-controlled split screen technology significantly improves resource utilization, patient care, operational efficiency, and costs. The platform incorporates telehealth to virtualize subject matter experts to improve patient education and hospital throughput. It is also HIPAA-secure and built on a Zero Trust architecture, meaning it can verify user identity, device and permission-levels on every login using mobile multi-factor authentication.
“ShareSafe is delighted to be introducing to the healthcare market our new breakthrough mobile technology, ShareView, with Samsung,” said Robert Hanson, CEO of ShareSafe. “We believe our mobile-to-Samsung Smart Healthcare TV integration not only optimizes the real estate on the large screen, but creates an entire new canvas for improving patient care. With up to four quadrants of simultaneous patient data, education, and more on the display, clinicians are empowered to fully engage with their patients, which we believe will improve workforce productivity and patient outcomes.”
