Samsung Electronics and multi-Platinum, genre-bending artist Halsey today announced their collaboration behind the just-released music video for the artist’s new single “So Good,”  directed by Alev Aydin, Halsey’s partner.

To create the video, Halsey and Aydin teamed up with Samsung Electronics to bring the story to life visually. Supporting Halsey’s creative concept for “So Good,” the brand provided the resources needed for the project, including the new Samsung Freestyle portable device used to share the couple’s memories throughout the video.

“The film we created for ‘So Good’ really tells the full story of the song in the way I intended,” explained Halsey. “Samsung helped us share our vision, giving us the creative freedom we needed to make something we are really proud of. Using the Freestyle, Alev and I were able to share a glimpse of the way that we fell in love: watching romantic films together. But this time, the Freestyle is playing real home movies from our life together. For us, this makes ‘So Good’ come to life in a really special way that we’re so excited share with fans.”

A perfect synergy, Halsey and Samsung’s collaboration captures how technology both inspires creativity and helps people share their art with others. The Freestyle – which can project and adjust to virtually every surface – is woven into the story throughout the video.

“Halsey is such an inspiring and creative artist and when we heard ‘So Good,’ we knew right away that we wanted to help tell the visual story behind it,” said Sarah Larsen, Vice President of Home Entertainment Marketing for Samsung Electronics America. “We loved how Halsey and Alev used our new Freestyle to help tell the story behind the song in such unique way and are thrilled to help them share their pivotal memories with fans.”

The collaboration between Halsey, Aydin and Samsung highlights how technology plays a part in our everyday lives, and also how it can inspire creativity and encourage storytelling. The Freestyle, as its name implies, lets you watch virtually anything, anywhere and at any time. Fans can follow Halsey and Samsung for more information with details about how to share their art with Halsey coming soon.
