Favre wrote. “In this election, we have freedom of choice, which all should respect. For me & these principles, my Vote is for @RealDonaldTrump.”
Orr’s endorsement came in the form of a full-page ad in the Manchester Union Leader on Friday. Orr is pictured with his wife, Peggy, and Trump posing with their thumbs up.
“I have never done anything like this before, but I am greatly concerned for the country in which I have raised my family — a country I have grown to love deeply,” the ad reads. “I want my grandchildren to know the America I know, a place of patriotism and opportunity.”
Orr was born in Canada but resides in the US, and donated $5,000 to the Trump campaign this summer. While his wife, Margaret, is a registered voter, Orr is not, according to public voting records. CNN was unable to determine if Orr is an American citizen. Two emails sent to Orr’s associates went unreturned.
Favre’s endorsement came months after the Hall of Fame quarterback played golf with Trump at one of the president’s golf clubs in New Jersey. Favre told USA Today he would’ve accepted the invitation from any president and said he empathized with Trump’s role in managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
